The pearl of Karelia is Kizhi Island in Lake Onega. It is known for the wooden church with 22 domes, built without a single nail. It is the part of the open-air museum complex of wooden architecture, which includes more than 60 constructions. It is declared the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site.
